CD: The Story of Us

Andrea Kirwin is a singer-songwriter from the Sunshine Coast with Australian Fijian roots. Andrea weaves melodies and storytelling together to create a rich tapestry, much like the way her Fijian grandmother used to weave pandanus mats in the village. Each song is crafted in a way that allows the listener to subtly enter into the space between words and really experience the story, whether it be a love story or a song about letting go.

Andrea's music crosses into various contemporary genres including hip-hop, folk, funk and soul, however it is her smooth laid-back vocal tones that make each song come alive. Her voice has been likened to Norah Jones, Tracy Chapman, India Arie and Joan Armitrading to name a few.

Andrea is truly an independent Australian Artist having self-produced 2 Albums under her own Record Label, Peace Run Records. Always willing to share her songs and stories, Andrea has performed all around the country in some of the smallest cafes and bars in country towns to big music festivals such as The Woodford Folk Festival, Palm Creek Folk Festival and Wintermoon in 2015. She is one of Australia's hidden gems, and has recently released her 2nd Album, 'The Story of Us, on October and completed an East Coast Tour between the Sunshine Coast and Canberra. Four songs off her latest album were Highly Commended in the 2015 Queensland Music Awards. Andrea and band look forward to performing all around the country in 2016 at Festivals far and wide.
