Indoor Rabbit Cages in Australia

The Perfect Cage for your Rabbit

If you're unsure about where to start when purchasing a cage for your rabbit, here are some tips on how to start:

Size Matters

While rabbits are small animals, they are also very curious and love to play—so the best home for your rabbits is a large rabbit cage. You can get away with a smaller cage while rabbits are young and small, as long as they have enough playtime outside daily.

Multi-Level Cages

A multi-level cage is the perfect housing for an indoor rabbit. Not only do they provide plenty of space for your bunny to run around, but they also give your new friend a sense of security thanks to the multiple levels and hiding spots. They also take up less floor space!

Cleanliness is Key

No one wants a smelly cage! Opt for a cage with an easily extractable plastic bottom tray above a tray with holes for an easy way to keep everything clean. This lets you get rid of most of the rabbit poop without needing to move everything around.

Cage Accessories are a Must

No matter what size or style of rabbit cage you choose, there are a few must-have accessories that every bunny needs. Every rabbit needs a water bottle or a water bowl, a food bowl, hay, a litter box and some safe toys to chew on.

Indoor or Outdoors

While a metal rabbit cage is ideal for indoor rabbits, you can also keep bunnies outdoors. In that case, remember to opt for a rabbit hutch instead, so they have a place to retreat in bad weather, for sleep or when they feel shy.
